Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck March 31

Are you a Wordtracker member yet? I highly recommend signing up
for even just a day or a week, just to explore your target audience's
behavioural trends.

Are you struggling to find powerful windows of opportunity in Wordtracker? Chances are, there are enourmous opportunities right under your nose, just waiting to be discovered. These are perfect keyword phrases that will attract just the right Web visitors to your Web site.

QUESTION: Why are these phrases so special?
ANSWER: It's simple. People are really searching for these type of high KEI terms and yet at the same time, the competition is extremely low. With a little optimization you can easily rank and be found.

QUESTION: What makes these keywords seem so elusive to many people?
ANSWER: Many people are unaware that there are extraordinary trends left behind. I tap into these trends instantly (in seconds usually) using my Wordtracker Magic methods.

For today, we'll examine a few high KEI values that might be of interest to affiliate marketers or perhaps in one of the more competitive industries like "computers."

KEI Observation Deck for Thursday March 31:

Are you looking for what type of (high KEI) computer equipment that people are searching for?

Here are some quick observations:

"xeon rackmount computers" -KEI 1260.250

"linux rackmount computers" -KEI 1091.368

"multiple monitors laptop" -KEI 1068.132

Obviously on that last note, people are looking for laptop computers
that can be used with multiple monitors. Interesting!

Okay, now let's have a look for some general products that you might optimize for as an affiliate marketer.

Things people are searching for in general include:

"electric candle tart burners warmers" KEI 2401.

"Home Made Waste Oil Burners" KEI 1032.

"Rechargeable Radio Batteries" KEI 415.

Here is an interesting note or tip on searcher behaviour that in
some cases, it appears that battery buyers are also interested on
finding details about the warranty: (Interesting)

"heavy duty dry cell 12 volt batteries warranty KEI 11,664.000

We'll close today's observations with a Wordtracker Question
which was asked by one of our readers about an earlier observation
this week.

-----------------------------------------------

Question:

Hi John,

You mentioned
"Gallery of Men's Hairstyles" KEI - 2012.163

I have never been able to get Wordtracker to search for words like "men's" (using an apostrophe)
It keeps giving me an error message. How did you find it?

Thanks
Scott
-----------------------------------------------

ANSWER:

Have you read my book Wordtracker Magic?

Here's the key. You want to work with single "root word" (in singular form only). (Avoid using apostrophes)
Let the database sort out the mess for you and compile every variation of how that word might be used within a phrase and then let it sort it out for you from highest KEI to lowest.

The root word in the example on the blog, was actually the single term "hair".

I hope this tip helps you.

Highest regards
John Alexander

KEI Obsevation Deck March 30

Quite some time ago Robin Nobles wrote an article based on a strategy to attract the ideal buying audience into a site for baby furniture or a Web site selling baby strollers for example.

The thrust of the article was to point out that most baby stores or retailers are selling to the "soon to be" parents and so it was fascinating to see how "soon to be" parents were using the Internet to discover a possible name for their new child. People were attracted to a Web site where they could research a list of baby names or even the meanings of baby names.

While the term "baby names" still has a KEI value of 318.223
the competition has risen signifantly from when I first wrote that article. It's still a fair term if you don't mind competing a little bit. Remember that you need to deliver what you are optimizing for and don't disappoint your searchers. If they are searching for "Baby Names" that's what you need to give them. Then you could add in some other ads for appropriate products.

Here is that original article if you wish to read it.

Let's take the KEI temperature of some alternative terms and see if we can't find some higher window of opportunity:

KEI Observation Deck for Wednesday March 30:

"baby names" KEI 318.223

"meanings of baby names" KEI 312.398

And here is a clear cut opportunity:

"Baby Names List" KEI 4087.135 (Excellent opportunity)

--------------------------------------

On a side note, if you were working on promoting a children's
toy store, or perhaps children's books, here is something that people are really searching for:

"Care Bears Names" KEI 1972.321

--------------------------------------

KEI Observation Deck March 29

Here are just a few quick 30 second glances at things that might be appropriate for seasonal promotions (before the season arrives).

Again, these are based on quick and easy Wordtracker Magic techniques where we instantly tapped into very high KEI values. As you'll recall, Wordtracker says a value of 100 can be considered fair. A value of 400 is considered and excellent keyword phrase to target.
The higher the Keyword Effectiveness Index, the bigger the window of opportunity is for gathering in good traffic without labouring to hard.

KEI Observations for March 29

If you have a Christmas related Web site, did you know that people are searching for:

"Directions for Making Christmas Bows" - KEI 1728.00

Possible seasonally related in a different way, people also want:

"Directions for Making Maple Syrup" - KEI 507

Not seasonally related, but still interesting....people who like to crochet are searching on the Internet for:

"Crochet Directions for Ponchos" - KEI 2119.692

The study of people's searching behaviours is absolutely fascinating and the key to building a genuine profitable Web site.

Whether you are running your own business online, or maybe you need more qualified traffic for your clients, or even if you are building a profitable affiliate marketing business.... there is nothing as powerful as understanding exactly what your customers are searching for. Combine this with solid optimization skills and you can move to the top of your field and leave the competition in the dust.

Do you need help to build up your search engine researching skills?
Maybe you'd like personal hands-on instruction on how to get ranked in the very top spots on the major search engines?

What does Johnny Depp have in common with these people?

Question: What does Johnny Depp have in common with each of the following people?

Johnny Depp
George Washington
Spongebob (You know the cartoon guy)
Ray Charles
and Martha Stewart

This is not a joke but all of these people have one thing in common. Can you guess what it might be?

To make things even tougher here are even more people who similarly have one thing in common with Johnny Dep, George Washington, Spongebob, Ray Charles and Martha Stewart.

What have these 5 people (above) got in common with the following people:
Howard Stern
Elvis Presly
Janet Jackson
The Beatles
Marilyn Manson
and britney spears?

This list of people sound like they could not possibly have anything in common with each other but you're wrong. They have one point (that is rather interesting) in common. Did you guess what it was? Okay I will tell you. Each of these peoples names are within the top 500 searches conducted on the Internet within the last 60 days according to the data collected in Wordtracker.

Wordtracker (as you may know) is one of my favourite keyword research tools. If you would like to study the MOST searched for keywords, as well as find wonderful "windows of opportunity" for attracting traffic to your Web site, Wordtracker is a powerful resource.

In the members area, you can study the top most searched for terms being searched for the major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo as well as many others. You can also purchase a killer report of the top 20,000 most popular keywords within the last 60 days.

Also, if you have not listened to my unique tips on how to gain the very best data from Wordtracker in just seconds, I have free Wordtracker audio tips you can listen to right on your own computer. I explain step by step how to extract the best keywords and phrases in these short little audio lessons that are only 3 minutes each to listen to.

There is nothing so fascinating as studying the searching behaviors of your "ideal buying audience" then you can build extremely effective strategies to attract the right audience to your Web site.

New article just added - Smarter writing styles

Greetings to everyone. We've just added a brand new article to our free article library today. It's called:

Dialogue with your Web Visitors through smarter writing styles
By John Alexander

Have you ever wanted to write more effective sales copy?

If you have ever wished you could convert more of your Web site visitors into actual sales, then let's examine some superior ways to accomplish just exactly how it's done. Let's talk about working with smarter Web copy that can make a difference. In a minute I want to come back to give you some examples, but let's talk about that word "dialogue."

We know that the term "dialogue" is really more correctly thought of as the dictionary describes:
"A conversation spoken between two or more people." If you look up synonyms for the word "dialogue" as a noun, you'll find a lot of terms that focus on "vocal expression" or "utterance" or "verbalization" in some aspect.

So why do I use the term "dialogue" in terms of writing Web copy?  It's the best term I can think of to describe what I like to think of as the "flow of conversation" or nearly like writing your copy as though it was... < Continue reading about smarter writing here >

Have you tried KartOO the Visual Meta Crawler?

Here is a Meta search engine that's takes a little different approach in delivering up it's results. As soon as you launch a search, Kartoo analyses your request and then questions the most relevant engines, it selects the most appropriate sites and places them on a map.

On mousing over the map, you can see how pages are linked together with other related sites. When you move the pointer over these pages, various keywords are "illuminated" and a brief description of the site appears on the left side of the screen.

You can refine your search from there by clicking on different subjects. You can also ask KartOO a question (remember to use a question mark.)

Can you submit your Web site to KartOO? Actually, No you can't. Remember that KartOO is a meta-search engine, so the registration of your site must be performed directly on the different search engines.
Of course if you are already ranking well for your important keywords then chances are you will already be found on KartOO too.

KartOO is kind of a fun meta-search engine that displays details a little differently and it's interesting to see how results relate to one another on the map.

Give the KartOO Visual Meta-search a try right here:
http://www.kartoo.com

That's all for now.
