KEI Observation Deck: August 30, 2005
Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck: August 30, 2005
I'll just recap that here at the KEI Observation Deck, I regularly post keyword phrase combinations that have a Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI) of over 400, which usually constitutes a phrase which you can optimize conent for without too much stress.
These higher KEI values represent phrases that are really in use by the "buying audience" of online searchers, but at the same time, they are not too competitive. In other words, even if you are just starting out in SEO skills training, you should easily be able to compete and gain good exposure by working with these phrases.
The keyword research tool of choice by most experienced talent, is none other than Wordtracker.com.
According to Wordtracker a good phrase has a KEI of at least 100
An excellent phrase has a KEI of at least 400
On the postings I make here, you'll find an assortment of topics and the KEI values I extract from Wordtracker are often in the hundreds, in the thousands and even higher. The point being if you understand optimization and know about any of these topics, you can create some excellent strategies with much less optimization stress and you can spend your time building valuable content (which is what the visitor wants anyways.)
