High KEI keyword observations from Wordtracker
Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck.
A few quick observations to start with...(thanks to Wordtracker)
"international paper retirement plan" KEI 2230.4
"free papers on drunk driving" KEI 613.8
"self inking address stamps" KEI 270.8
"peristaltic pumps for ink" KEI 1084.9
"peristaltic ink pump" KEI 1975.7
"hyperion batteries" KEI 530.4
"notebook battery hinote 700 series" KEI 7396.0
"solar ray reflection" KEI 437.4
"painter smock" KEI 109.4
"cabinet painting system" KEI 366.7
"Fix It Instructions For Hoover Vacuum Cleaner" KEI 103,686.2
"Car Fix It Yourself Guides" KEI 49,406.4
"Yamaha Outboard Fix It Guide" KEI 300,125.0
Some of these phrases are being searched in amazing volume and it's
a shame that more legitimate search engine marketers don't take the time to tie into these (with some genuine content) or even affiliate products that meet the need of the searcher.
For some high KEI exact phrase clusters, it appears you would only competing with less than 10 pages. There are audiences that are searching for something legitimate and it appears that there are enourmous opportunities for those who are willing to give these searchers something decent to buy.

High KEI "tool related" keyword observations
Welcome aboard the KEI Observation Deck.
Wordtracker says that a keyword phrase with a KEI value of
(KEI=Keyword Effectivness Index)
-100 is a phrase with a good window of opportunity.
-400 is a phrase with an EXCELLENT window of opportunity.
Basically what they mean is that the higher the KEI value, the better
your chances of finding a genuine phrase that is actually being
searched BUT also has a low number of competing pages.
Here on the KEI Observation Deck, I get tired of hearing people tell
me that there are no "high KEI" values left in the database. This
is simply not true, because mostly all I ever see are GREAT KEI
values for nice big "windows of opportunity." So what I like to do
is to demonstrate exactly what I see in Wordtracker, that other
people seem to miss. Wordtracker is an amazing tool that continually
gives us an edge on what the market place is really searching for.
Okay, here we go then with a few quick random observations:
"leadership assessment tools"
KEI 56.5 201 searches in 90 days Only 714 competing pages
"locksmith tools equipment"
KEI 208.5 373 searches in 90 days Only 667 competing pages
"paintshop tools"
KEI 235.4 570 searches in 90 days Only 1380 competing pages
"Mr Fix It Tool Box Clock"
KEI 13857.0 1337 searches in 90 Only 129 competing pages
"Naplex study tools"
KEI 26896.0 164 searches in 90 ZERO (o) competing pages
"Ms Fix It Tool Box Clock"
KEI 122017.7 1307 searches in 90 14 competing pages
Have you ever wondered about the other keyword services out there
that try and tell you they have so much more data than Wordtracker?
The value of Wordtracker data is that it is culled and not loaded
with duplicate entries. I don't use a keyword research because of
the "quantity" of data, but because of the "quality" of data.
Have you ever wondered about the huge differences between certain
PPC keyword research tools and Wordtracker data? Read this article
by Robin Nobles on Demystifying the Radically Different Results
between Overture and Wordtracker.
A final few random observations for
"harbor freight tools" KEI 4.7 242,000 competing pages
but
"regional freighters" KEI 270.0 Has ONLY 244 competing pages
"scientific calculator" KEO 0.013 1,570,000 competing pages
but
"factoring calculator" KEI 157.3 Has Only 739 competing pages
Using Wordtracker to explore the marketplace is not really magic,
but it can sure make a huge difference instead of guessing at
what searchers are doing.
Here are 8 Keyword Research Tips to help you think deeper thoughts and explore those true niche areas:

Are you interested in "Semantics?"
If you are reading our Free SEO tip of the day, you would have
possibly just got a nice tip on Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI.)
Are you interested in learning about how some words relate to other
important words based on what a search engine "understands"
through "artificial intelligence or (AI)?"
In general terms, "semantics" is simply the study
of "language meaning."
The field of semantics includes the study of how meaning
is constructed, interpreted, clarified, obscured, illustrated,
simplified, negotiated, contradicted and paraphrased.
In other words, one might say how words relate to other
words in order to put the meaning of a message into the
correct context.
A better "definition" of semantics, than the one I offered in
my brief SEO Tip of the Day, is a definition that is offered by
one of our associate educators Michael Marshall, who has a
wonderful way of describing LSI thanks to a degree in linguistics
and also excellent insights in the advanced mathematics sciences.
Here is a quote from Michael Marshall in how he describes
"semantics" and specifically how it applies to LSI:
"With respect to LSI, semantics deals with how the various
aspects of meaning outlined above can be found "hidden in
documents" by means of the presence, absence, associations
and relationships between words found in those documents."
If you are interested in learning more about how the impact of
Latent Semantic Indexing on your Web site, be sure to check out
