Examining a few root words involving numbers
Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck.
Here we like to observe high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) value keywords that have amazing potential to reveal what searchers are interested in and searching for in Wordtracker's Member area.
For example a KEI value of 100 is considered to be a good keyword phrase. But a KEI value of 400 is considered to be excellent.
In short, the higher the KEI value, the bigger your window of opportunity for a niche phrase that is really being used in search but also possesses a low compete count.
In the KEI Observation Deck, I like to show people that there are a wealth of EXCELLENT keyword phrases. Normally I teach people how to instantly tap into excellent windows using a behaviorally related "root" word.
Today, I'm going to show you something different.
QUESTION: What would happen if we applied a little magic using a "digital number" as opposed to a word?
ANSWER: Sometimes, not much......but other times you'll stumble on some very high KEI phrases.
Demonstration:
1. Pick a number. (I just picked 500 as a number)
2. Enter it into comprehensive and sort by KEI.
Results:
"ford galaxie 500 xl classifieds" KEI 554.5
"500 gram cakes" KEI 680.0
"greece art of 500 bce to 500 ad" KEI 961.0
"500 ton used drilling equipment" KEI 1764.0
"kawasaki 500 carburetor removal" KEI 1936.0
"look for free 500 toys r us gift card" KEI 2704.0
"500 gram fireworks for sale" KEI 3844.0
Most of the above terms are like zero competition!
Okay, let's try again with a different number....
How about 99!
"99 2-door chevy tahoe" KEI 484.0
"99 tahoe stainless steel exhaust tips" KEI 1600.00
"pictures of 99 chevy 2-door tahoe" KEI 1600
You may wonder....what is the point of this exercise?
Most of us need liberty to learn how to "explore data" instead of trying to guess at keywords that we "think" are important.
Guessing at keywords is what the rest of the world does.
What you need to learn to do, is to explore data based on trends and topical interests. The more we think like everyone else, the fewer of those magical niches we will ever find.
Open up your scope of thinking and you'll discover things in here that I have never found yet.
What else could we put into the system to explore?
How about an offbeat "color" or how about your favorite "color."
I am going to explore "violet." (First thing that came to mind)
But look at some of these????
"honeywell ultra violet lamp" KEI 256.0
"ultra violet water filtration systems" KEI 342.2
"Buy Candied Violets" KEI 361.0
"crystallized violet candy" KEI 441.0
"museum protection from ultra violet light" KEI 676.1
"recipes Wood Violet" KEI 729.0
When will you give yourself more permission to explore the truths hidden in Wordtracker's awesome data instead of guessing at keywords?
Short lesson today but I hope you'll be creative and next time you are in Wordtracker, take a chance and just go exploring.
You might just find more than you expected and you won't need for me to tell you when find those trails of gold!
Need to speed up your keyword research skills?
Apply a little magic today!

Special KEI Observations for Vacuums
Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck.
It is John Alexander standing by to take you onto a journey into the depths of Wordtracker to show you how to quickly extract high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) niche phrases.
According to Wordtracker,
-a good phrase has a KEI value of at least 100.0
-an excellent keyword phrase, has a KEI of 400.0
Rule of thumb.....the higher the KEI value, the greater your "window of opportunity" to rank well for a phrase that is actually being used.
High usage and low competition is the answer.
Okay, now let's see what we can find in Wordtracker in just a few seconds....are you ready? For today, I am going to look at a few replentishable type items.
Here we go then....
"dyson how to replace a vacuum cleaner belt" KEI 440.3
"dyson kirby vacuum cleaner belt" KEI 601.6
"eureka vacuum cleaner belt online" KEI 854.2
"dirt devil vacuum cleaner belts information" KEI 1568.2
"bissell vacuum cleaner belt online" KEI 2296.3
"dirt devil vacuum cleaner belts replacement" KEI 9216.0
"bissell vacuum cleaner belt review" KEI 11,236.0
"dyson how to change a vacuum cleaner belt" KEI 12,100.0
"eureka vacuum cleaner belt information" KEI 12,996.0
"dirt devil vacuum cleaner belt review" KEI 17961.0
Okay, not bad for under 4 minutes flat.

People appear to be obsessed with Obituaries?
Welcome to the KEI Observation Deck.
Here we like to observe high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) value keywords that have amazing potential to reveal what searchers are interested in and searching for in Wordtracker's Member area.
For example a KEI value of 100 is considered to be a good keyword phrase. But a KEI value of 400 is considered to be excellent.
In short, the higher the KEI value, the bigger your window of opportunity for a niche phrase that is really being used in search but also possesses a low compete count.
In the KEI Observation Deck, I like to show people that there are a wealth of EXCELLENT keyword phrases, not only in the 400 range, but much higher. Please stay with me now as we dip into that marvellous Wordtracker data and quickly extract the hottest topics....
LOOK at a few of these around the root "Obituary"
"Free Obituaries" KEI 117.4 (doable with 46,000 competing pages)
but now look at the power of little words and phrase clusters....
"Local Newspaper Obituaries" KEI 426.8 (only 333 competing pages)
"Newspaper Obituary Archives" KEI 2,309.0
"Obituary Searches" KEI 9744.0
There are easily a dozen different phrases that could be optimized for using only very mild optimization efforts. It seems people are fascinated with life and death.
Just a quick lesson today.
But I hope it makes you think about "behaviors" instead of hunting for keywords!
Much continued success to you my friends and drop in soon for more keyword observations.

John Alexander
