Keyword observations related to "Google" and Christmas

If you know me, I am fascinated with exploring user search behavior.
Here on the KEI Observation Deck the slightest idea triggers me to go exploring the data that surrounds it.

Today....I noticed (as we all probably did) that Google has started its first in a series of "Christmas doodles." If you look at the Google search engine you see a series of cartoon doodles that unfold to tell a little story each year. As each day before Christmas approaches, so does the story unravel. Here are some examples of past Google Doodles and information about Dennis Hwang the guy who creates Google doodles.

I think these little holiday logos are one of the most brilliant viral things that Google has ever come up with.

Think back to a time when every major search engine on the planet a screen filled with every type of information packed into it....along comes the new Search Engine that does something completely different than the rest. A search engine that only has a logo and a search box.

But then they have so much creative fun with their logo and use it
so beautifully.

Okay, a few very brief observations today on the term Google as a root word.

"pictures of google corporation" KEI 100

"Google Talk for Blackberry Phones" KEI 112.5

"text message search google mobile" KEI 441.0

"google auto route" KEI 645.3

"How do you place a Google Map on your site" KEI 2116.0

Interesting but not too much of immediate interest. So my next thought is about the season itself. People are always telling me there are no decent high KEI keywords for "Christmas" related searches.

Okay, let's give Wordtracker keyword forensics a whirl....
and here are a few interesting observations in under 60 seconds:

"Christmas Night Scenes" KEI 696.0

"Christmas Snow Scenes" KEI 5,389.0

"free radio station for christmas songs" KEI 6,032.0

"Where Can I Get Free Toys for Christmas" KEI 20,170.0

"Christmas Help for Low Income Families" KEI 27,890.0

"Christmas Theme Desktops" KEI 32,130.0

Of course these are great windows of opportunity if you have something relevant that you can tie into to them with for next Christmas.
