Turn your hobbies into SEO practice time
One of the easiest ways to get started on the Web is to consider your hobbies and interests.
Everyone knows something about something. You can focus on writing content that you personally enjoy writing about and that takes the drudge work out of creating fresh original content. Whether you decide to talk about a favorite sport like fishing or stamp collecting or if you are into martial arts or gardening, it really don't matter.
It is great to create your content because you enjoy the subjects you write about. Whether it's a site on propane safety or old low budget B Movies there is an audience of enthusiasts out there that will enjoy what you create.
The big thing is to just make up your mind and get started. Some people will say to themselves, "but what can I offer or what do I know?"
I'll bet that once you get started with topics that you specifically enjoy, you'll have a hard time stopping. In the meantime, if you need help, remember that there is likely a Search Engine Workshop class going on somewhere near you. There is no reason not to get whatever help you need and you'll be on your way.
Here is a list of some of the Web training locations where you can quickly build the skills you need right close to home.
