Easy Blog Set Up Instructions (from Thomas Petty)

Tom states, "What I wanted to do here is to set down some step-by-step instructions for the “regular” guy or gal that wants to get started with a solid foundation with a self-hosted WordPress blog.

There are many terrific blogging platforms available, most available at little or no cost. I’m a fan of WordPress myself, mostly because it’s what I’m used to using. This post is some steps that I’ve learned along the way that will hopefully help you to:

* Set up your blog easily
* Make sure it’s safe from hackers
* Give you some basics that will get you started to a successful blog

Understanding more about natural language processing and SEO

One of the things it seems more and more people are becoming aware of (as compared to only a few years ago) is how the search engines are using Artificial Intelligence or (AI) for Natural Language Processing or (NLP.)

Here is one of the sharpest Interviews that I've seen posted in a while on semantics for the Web and particularly on natural language processing.

In a March 16th Blog post by Joe Hall, we have a very interview between Joe and Marie-Claire Jenkins (a.k.a CJ) who is completing a PhD in Natural Language Processing and Artificial Intelligence at the University of East Anglia.

For the full interview check out Andy Beal's Marketing Pilgrim Blog.

Once you have read this, also be sure to check out a new tool called SEM SCOUT which was created by LSI expert Michael Marshall.

You can easily begin to see the advantages of Michael's latest SEM SCOUT once you understand the importance of of Natural Language Processing and get a clearer idea of how NLP works to support strategic or advanced SEO formulas.

Also be sure to visit the Science For Seo Web site which has a wealth of info on Natural Language Processing by Marie-Claire Jenkins.

New Report Shows Decline for PPC Advertising

The first part of 2009 has been interesting, very interesting. The global recession shows no current signs of recovery in the short term, and much of this has been reflected in advertising budgets worldwide. In particular, the retail sector has been one of the hardest hit, and this has been reflected in Rimm-Kaufman’s early first quarter 2009 PPC data.

Optimized Press Release Services - Generate Traffic in Hours

Recently SEO and Usability expert Thomas Petty just wrote about how
to Optimize Press Releases and - Generate Traffic in Hours

Tom says, "Google rewards news. So, anytime there’s fresh content out there that’s unique and newsworthy, Google posts it on news.google.com. Google posts it in the organic search results and considers syndicates of your press release as sources of rare “quality links” that get factored into your search engine rank."

Who Isn't A New Media Strategist?

Mitch Joel just wrote an excellent post for January 1,2009.

Who Isn't A New Media Strategist?

"If you look at many of the profiles found on Blogs and people's ultra-short/sharp bios on Twitter, you will notice something very interesting: almost everybody says that they are either a New Media Strategist or a Social Media Strategist. What, exactly, does that mean and how can you better understand just how good they are at online strategy?"
